My radio is an SC-910. The dealer gave me the code via the VIN number. I get a CODE display when the car is turned on, I enter the code, is asks me to re-enter the cade. I re-enter the code and the display goes to SYSTEM OFF. The battery in the car is quite weak which is what triggered this problem from the begining. Should I re-charge the battery before trying again with the code? Is there a special way to enter the code or just push the buttons?
When the dealer pulled the info for my car I also got a VGLA Remote Key PIN and a VGLA Locktype PIN. will these be of use in trying to find a remote for the car?

You locked the radio. It will need to sit for atleast 2 hours to reset with the key in the 1st position and radio on.
Then have them get you the code from the Radio serial#
When you have the proper 4 digit code enter it and it will come on.

The other codes they gave you won't help you at all. They Dealer uses them to program the remote.

 

How can I get the radio serial number? Does the unit have to be removed from the car? Easy job or let the dealer do it?

Fixed. Found the two "handles" at the front of the radio and used that to pull the radio partially out of the console. The previous owner or service shop graciously scribbled the code on the serial number tag and it worked perfectly.
