Default Wheel bolts...

Is it just me or do you have problems removing your wheels. I tried to remove my rims with the wheel wrench provided with the car...the bolts wont turn. Bought a cross bar to get more torque...same thing. I know they will come off with a compressor but I don't have one...I just want to change my wheels for the winter...

Maybe I am just weak!!! Are you experiencing the same thing? Do you have a trick?

Did a tire shop put them on last?
They are known for over torquing them.
You might need a long breaker bar with a pipe on the end of it.
I run into this all the time.
I have had to use my 2 ft breaker bar with a 3 ft cheater pipe and still had a hard time.

Well the garage whoinstalled them on the last time is my long time Volvo mechanic...Iam pretty sure they know what they are doing..I guess the problem comes from the fact that they are "screws" and not just bolts like most other cars...right? So I guess I'll use a big pipe to give more strengt...

I have this problem with my car all the time. I have tried putting copper grease on the bolts, I have torqued the bolts to the specified torque and still every time I take the wheels off it's a whole mission. I have noticed that all my bolts are looking a bit rusty, all except one, and that one never gives me problems. Maybe I must just replace them all and if that doesn't work, then I'll get a rattling gun
