Hi all,

I'm new here and looking for a bit of advice if possible. My SRS Airbag warning light recently appeared on the dash with the message "Drive to workshop now" which is exactly what I did. Volvo have found rodent droppings inside the engine bay and the little, let's say "darlings" have chewed through the wiring loom and stolen, yes STOLEN my SRS cable. I'm looking at close to £500 for this cable evidentially. Does that sound right to you? £500 to replace a cable? What's the labour like on that?

I'm wondering how easy it would be to buy and replace the cable myself?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I've only had the car just under a year and I'm absolutely gutted it may end up costing me this amount of money due to something that's very much out of my control! The car is still under warranty but I'm told this wouldn't be covered.

On the plus side .. the loaner I've been given is a brand spanking new S90 and I can quite honestly say, it is the most comfortable, powerful and enjoyable car I've ever driven. I cannot actually believe the power that thing has! Put it in Polestar mode and it's quicker than an M3 I'm sure of it! All the bells and whistles, £60k to buy! I can dream I suppose.
