Hi all,im imw to this forum,i recently broke my key transponder by accident,all the older forums say that no-one can reprogram a new transponder chip besides the volvo dealers,is this still the case or is there now a way to have it done without going through the dealer,please tell me there's a way

 

There's always been a way.

Buy VIDA and a DiCE unit.
Buy a subscription so you can perform software downloads.
Buy the software, download it and program the key.

Or go to an indy shop that has done all that if you can find one. But guess what- since they paid for the equipment, it gets passed onto the customer, so their price will likely be similar to the dealer, perhaps slightly lower.
