I have a 2010 (2009) Volvo XC60. The tailgate will not stay up. Replaced the strut, but has the same issue. I took it to the dealer and was told that there was nothing that they could do, the parts have discontinued and are no longer available.

I was told to take the actuator to a local hydraulic repair shop. The shop could not guarentee a fix and it was going to be fairly pricey for a rebuild that may not work.

Does anyone have a fix, or is time to put my XC60 down?

Thanks, for your help. I decided to go another way. I decided 15 years was enough and I bought a new car. Not a Volvo, but that relationship started to sour
