2013 XC60 - xc60 new battery - only radio (top row) buttons don't work
Looked all over and finally decided I needed to make a thread.
Replaced battery. I am guessing they did not wait the 5 minutes to disconnect. Now everything works except the controls for the radio on the infotainment system in the middle. temp, defrost, a/c, heated seats - all of that works. The buttons along the top (media, radio, my car, etc.) are non-responsive. Same goes for the dials. the two upper - volume/power menu/exit) do not work. The bottom two do.
There is no sound coming out of the radio.
The steering wheel controls let me access the menus (my car, etc.) and make changes (adjust clock, for example) but when I select "AM" or "FM1" or "CD" nothing happens.
I have disconnected the battery, waited, depressed the brake, reconnected and several variation of this process (completely off when disconnecting, key in ignition+quick press, key+long press). I am stuck.
I have also checked the four fuses that seem like they would be connected to this issue (all the infotainment +bluetooth).
I also unlocked and lock the door with the key fob several times as mentioned in a few threads.
Day 2:
Brought it back to the place that dd the replacement. They checked all of the fuses, did the disconnect and wait thing again. They finally told my wife that the set of fuses under the primary set in the engine bay "have to be the problem." Of course, those aren’t accessible easily.
I looked and they aren’t even fuses, they are circuit breakers and I really doubt that is the issue. The circuit breakers tend to be for much bigger systems and not for the buttons on the radio. Next step to try is to disconnect the battery overnight.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Any luck?
I purchased a 2015 V60 T5 AWD last month (replaced my 2011 C30 T5), and have been pretty happy with it. However, 2 mornings ago, I encountered the same issue you reported in this thread.
The volume stopped working (both the dial and steering wheel buttons), and all the audio related buttons on the console are unresponsive (Media, Tel, etc). The volume button shows Muted when pushed, but can't adjust up or down, and is stuck in the low position.
I've tried removing the breaker fuse for the infotainment and re-inserting, but that did nothing. I also removed and re-inserted fuse 16, but I couldn't grip 18 and 19 well enough to remove. I doubt it would have made a difference anyway. (In case you're wondering, I did try with the fuse removal tool, but then I dropped the tool behind the carpet, and its now gone forever!)
Have you found any solution to this? :
*fingers crossed*

Yes!
I brought it to the dealer and he said that the module that controlled or served the satellite radio in some fashion (i'll try and find the paperwork to let you know for sure) had died. The part was like $600 (or something ridiculous like that). He said if we didn't care about having satellite radio, he could jumper the module and that would fix it. They even stock the jumper part at the dealership because it happens so frequently.
Ultimately, it cost me $109 to fix it, but I have no satellite radio, which is easily worth a $500+ savings to me.
I'll dig up the info on the parts and post it here soon.
