2025 XC60 dripping AC condensation on driver's feet
My wife just took delivery of her new XC60 and called me saying that water was pouring on her feet while driving and she then took it to the dealer who opened the hood and showed her condensation collecting on the AC fittings and said she had the AC on cold and it was hot outside so that was the issue- condensation dripping on her feet. Intermediately I'm thinking- it's only 85 outside- regardless of the condensation why would the AC system be designed so that the condensation drips on the driver's feet?
a couple things come to mind 1) the evaporator drains are blocked and the condensation has no place to go 2) the system may be overcharged and getting too cold causing the evap to ice up.. (had this problem on one of my cars where the AC would stop blowing cold on a very hot day but if you turned it off for a couple minutes it would start to blow cold again). Dealer checked the charge and said there was actually too much pressure and brought it back into spec.
