Volvo XC60 This smaller crossover offers the capabilities of an SUV with less size - ideal for city driving.

Anyone with a '22 XC60 and actually happy with it?

I took delivery of a 2022 XC60 B5 earlier this month (doing a CbV subscription) and so far no major issues (knock on wood).
Generally pretty happy with the comfort, styling and look of the vehicle.
Current software version is v1.8.1. The Google Assistant, so far, works the same as it does with the speaker we have in our home.

The only shortcomings I see with the infotainment so far are:
  • Only 2 options for the driver's display - Maps or a blank screen (aka "calm").
  • Limited Trip statistics like mpg, distance traveled, etc. (it's a bit hidden IMO) -- would be nice to have other useful info on the mild hybrid system performance
All told, there's a lot of technology packed into this vehicle, so it can be challenging trying to figure it all out. Reading the Owner's Manual helps with the learning curve, but it's written in a way that makes a lot of assumptions about the owner's knowledge, IMO.

hey @Gallego we must be within weeks of each as same store here doing a CbV subs. Personally I think great value from it with it being maintained as well.

what model did you get ?

mine was R-Design but did have Blis and 360 camera missing which was a shame. Everything else good, but only collected on 23/12 so done 35 miles so far. tank being filled today for a road trip tomorrow.

Hi @Mrgandfriends -- Nice!! Yea mine is a Momentum. I was interested in getting one of the Recharges, but they are in very short supply right now. I'm planning to do a few road trips soon, so I just went for it :-)

That is indeed a shame you didn't get the 360 camera! I was hoping for that feature myself along with the Adaptive Cruise Control, but in the end, I guess it's not a big deal. Although, TBH, adaptive cruise control should be standard in a vehicles at this price point. (I've driven a 2017 Toyota Corolla and it had adaptive cruise control on the base model!!)

Anyway, maybe we can swap for another one w/ these advanced package features in late 2022 as part of the CbV benefit (once the supply chain issues get resolved of course).

I got 2022 XC60 back in July as one of the first ones delivered. I am very happy with it and issues with the Infotainment system are really minor and will get fixed with the future updates. I am sure that in the next 6 months we will get Car Play, tons of new apps in the store, more driving modes in the menu etc. This is the price to be one of the first to have it.
BTW, I never had such a comfortable car for long drives without any back pain.

Default I am glad you are happy with this unfinished junk

This car has so many inconveniences that the ride is not worth it. If I could get my money back I would.
This is the sixth or seventh Volvo I have owned and I will never but another.
The infotainment system is a woke possessive piece of software that only a socialist would like. Without it, the car is worthless and unfortunately it is very temperamental.

Does anyone want to buy a 2022 XC 60 B6. I would tell you how many miles are on it but there isn’t a simple way to read the odometer. The manual doesn’t tell you and the new app doesn’t tell you. If you call Volvo USA customer service they don’t even know.
The person that edited the manual should be terminated today.

Okay Bruce, calm down. We get it. You don't like yours because you have to press one button to see the mileage. No need to have a heart attack about it.

Sure thing. In order to start your refund, I'll need the current mileage. Oh, wait...

Default Unhappy iPhone User

I am very unhappy with the absence of Apple CarPlay in the 2022 XC 60. I have had several other Volvos in recent years that had CarPlay, and it was great. I do not like driving my 2022 XC 60 without CarPlay, because it is very inconvenient and creates safety issues because of the necessity of handling the iPhone instead of everything being hands-free. Volvo keeps promising to provide CarPlay as a download, but I now have had the car for 2.5 months and it has not happened. Volvo must not value having Apple iPhone users as customers, because i cannot figure out why else Volvo would have moved backwards and not provided CarPlay in 2022. If you are an iPhone user, i would not buy or lease a 2022 Volvo unless or until Volvo fixes this problem. I regret getting the 2022 XC 60 and wish i had either held onto my 2019 XC 60 or moved to a different manufacturer.

So I can understand the frustration of those who are use to iPhone/CarPlay in their vehicles. Yet to the majority of cell phone users, which are Android Phones (over 70% of all mobile devices worldwide were running Android), the new system with Google works very well!

Rather than trash your vehicle while you wait for CarPlay functionality to be added, you can create a free Google account and utilize that in your car. There are usually several solutions to any problem.... You might even find that you like some of the built-in features, and in the end, like the car you purchased.

Drive safe.....

Default DO NOT PURCHASE A VOLVO XC60 please tell everyone

Who wants a car with a software system that tracks where and when you go, who you talk or message to and then only allows you woke NPR radio. Then the system is so fickle it is constantly turning on and off. Buy a BMW…they finished their software and do things like pick up your car for service.

I was a longtime Volvo owner…this is the last time I am spending $62K for junk

Ahh.... I see you have already drunk the Cool-aid. So nothing anyone says on how to use Android will change your mind. So be it.

On the radio front, I listen to over 100+ stations, none of which is NPR. So I do not understand your statement that the car only plays NPR radio.

It seems like you really want a different car and brand, so go trade your in Volvo NOW. I suggest that you not go for a BMW, unless you are fine with the significant depreciation from new they have. Whatever car you choose, I recommend that you conduct better due diligence on the vehicle before you purchase it, so you know what you are buying.

We have only owned our XC60 for 6 weeks and have put about 1500 miles on it. Every thing works as we expected and we like the car very much. We knew going in that the Infotainment system was new, and would be adding functionality over time. Yes, I would like the option to display the Odometer all the time, yet one push of a button shows me the value, so not really a major issue.

I hope you find the vehicle you are looking for in the near future. Drive safe.

Yikes, your responses here made me read each of your 13 posts. Your anger makes me ask 'whom' do you think is the one possessed?

Some of us on here have what seems to be very annoying issues with the new Google technology in the '22 models. Mine is a '21 model and just fine, but I sympathize with them. And I also see others in the same predicament and at least trying to help out their fellow Volvo drivers. I'm sure Volvo is embarrassed and trying hard to rectify the issues. If you really DO own a new '22 Volvo, do you think these folk would try to help you? Especially after your insinuation above?

Hoping your car issues improve. Have a nice day and happy motoring.

I apologize in advance if you feel my comments are unwarranted.

Maybe your issue(s) are that you did not purchase the XC60 "Prancing Moose Edition".

This might explain some things. I'm not sure if your dealer can upgrade, yet I think it's worth every penny!

Drive safe

My wife wanted an Audi Q5 hybrid. She ordered one in early 2021. The dealer contacted me last week and said that it might be here by late April 2022.
we walked into a Volvo dealer and they had a 22 XC60 ready to roll. We wish that it didn’t have the Google operating system and that it had CarPlay. It does drive nice, it’s safe and does what she wants 95% of the time. I might pick up a cheap Android phone if CarPlay doesn’t get here soon.

Default Love it

Got the 2022 XC60 Inscription and I love it! After the learning curve and a few reset in the beginning, and the update, we have had no issues. Remote start, remote door lock, auto cargo door, google all function as should. But I am blessed to have a very patient and technically savvy hubby so I just get to enjoy the vehicle without any stress. But he has not mentioned anything go wrong in the last 4 months…

But I am worried. about the post I saw last night about rodents chewing on the wires,

That stat is a little misleading, a more accurate statistic would be % of 2022 Volvo owners with iOS vs Android. I know iOS dominates the U.S. market, which I’m guessing also accounts for most of the users on this forum.

I’m an iOS user, patiently waiting for CarPlay support, and I’m excited to see what’s in store for future updates. It hasn’t been a great experience, and it’s definitely buggy at times, but overall my XC60 recharge has been a fantastic vehicle. The infotainment system has a lot of potential, but I would wager that most users (Google or Apple) would agree that it leaves a lot to be desired in its current state.
