Default FWIW, New Consumer Reports rating

In the new January edition, the XC60 is listed under Newly Recommended (models with Improved Reliability) on page 47. There wasn't any other data except the S60 was mentioned under "No Longer Recommended" (models with declining reliability). Hard to figure as both are essentially the same car re: powertrain, brakes, electronics etc. Just a different body.

On page 49, the XC90 was listed under "Least Reliable Models" w/problem areas as: Brakes, Climate system, Body Hardware, & Drive system.

Normally I consider CR pretty reliable and have been a subscriber for over 20 years now. But it almost sounds as if someone had a bias especially in the rating of the XC90. Our cars are so 'high tech', it's very conceivable a tech device could have misbehaved, but I didn't know Volvo made one w/body issues. Hard to agree for me.

I wish they had rated the 'Recharge' models. Knocking on wood (seriously), my '21 XC60 T8 has been stellar and is a joy to park myself behind the wheel every time I use it. I've owned a lot of cars in my years, and I'd rank this among the best 5 of the lot. It's one of those cars that always makes me smile with the quite ride and super performance and handling. There's been a bunch not so nice, responsible for all of my creases from frowns.
