My daughter just got her first car a 2012 Volvo xc60- it’s great except for that we noticed after buying it that it has a heat issue… we live in Maine and it is starting to get cooler every day…. And we, as a family, have never owned a Volvo..

I tested out the heating functions after driving it for over an hour. It was 50°F out. The driver side and passenger side floor was consistently warm(but was not as warm as our other vehicles) and had an equal amount of air coming through both the driver and passenger sides..

These are the results I got using each of the different functions with the fan on high.. I tested it with the auto climate selected and without, air conditioning on and off- all the following results were the same- The only difference was when I used the auto circulating/recycled air function- The air output was slightly higher, but other than that no difference..

Body and floor- floor warm, only a small amount of air coming through the middle two vents. No air on side vents, no air from windshield defrost.

Windows- floor warm, only a small amount of air coming out.



When the max defrost button is used, there is no air coming from windshield defrost.



Is this an issue that sounds familiar to anyone?
