Default Looking to purchase a 2024 XC60 B5 Ultimate Dark Theme - Need input

This is the first time I've ever looked into purchasing a new Volvo. The one I am looking at has almost every conceivable upgrade, including Climate Package, Protection Package, Trailer Hitch, Luggage Cover, Power Operated Tailgate, Bowers & Wilkins Premium Sound, Front seat massage, Active Chassis with air suspension, 21" 5-Double Spoke Black Diamond Cut Alloy Wheels.

Having never owned a Volvo, I would like to hear from anyone with a similar make/model/trim/upgrades for any issues or problems that you may have experienced. The closest volvo dealer is 125 miles away so I am hoping that I would not expect many issues popping up in the first 36k miles.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Why would you purchase a car where the closest place to service it (the free maintenance and warranty work) is that far away? Are there no other car choices?

I owned a Volvo shop for 38 years. (1980-2018) I would suggest to my customers that they consider where they would get their new purchase (or current car if they were moving to a non-Volvo friendly area) serviced - before they purchased (or moved) -

My recent Volvos - 2015 xc70, 2020 xc60, 2023 xc60 - all have needed warranty work, and out of warranty have needed dealer parts and someone who knew what they were doing (me) to fix them. For example my leased 2020 would get new (free) front rotors every 10k during the free oil changes. ("warping" is a problem for some)

I have owned a 2023 XC60 B5 for more than a year. It is a very comfortable and beautiful automobile. BUT I will never purchase another Volvo again. Even though I have had no major problems with it the car is an annoying pain in the ***. The user interface sucks. My 2018 Camry pretty much did all that the Volvo does with a few exceptions. There are so many annoying user interface problems that are just to much to list. It seems that Volvo wants you to control everything using Google Voice. But since I've owned this car I have become to realize that I miss being able to adjust the temp of the A/C the normal way as other cars with buttons. If I don't use Voice I have to fiddle around with the main screen to get to the temp controls. I don't like this when I am driving. Oh yes, people will say "why don't you just command the temp change by telling it to do so"? Even though they might have a point, I guess I am just used to having a button or dial to do this. maybe it is just me.There have been many problems and discussions about all the problems...one example is the A/C does not spool up on hot days. If you left the fan on a lower speed when you left the vehicle it will stay there until you change it. When you use the steering wheel button to change radio stations or media there is absolutely no indication of what station or song you changed to. Read all about these things in this Facebook group:

Default Thank you for your car purchase input

Hoonk and Reach449,

Thank you for your candid responses, it is exactly what we needed to hear. We'll continue our search for a hybrid suv that has dealership representation here in town.
