my brake pedal is dropping to the floor. i bled all the lines, several times. lets just say the fluid is CLEAN and flushed.
ive bled the lines with engine off, and on. the brakes are firming up but still are spongy.
i think i want to bleed the two lines in the master cylinder before replacing it. i may have gotten air into it when bleeding the brakes as i got several low brake fluid warnings.
the ECM elec control module is right next to it.
1. could i just unscrew the brackets holding the ECM and move it out of the way? looks like there are just 2 (10mm nuts)
2. how can i move that ECM out of the way to get better access to that master cylinder?
i was considering removing the battery, but i need to get access to the other side of the cylinder, so that seems like a waste of effort.
i just want to be sure i wont eff up the cars electrical.
ill need the room if i replace the master cyclinder anyway.
im being cautious, but would like to know how to interact with the ECM properly.
i found this video it looks like the two connectors can be removed and the ECM just slips out. is it ok to do this without disconnecting the battery? theres nothing wrong with the ECM, i just need to move it out of the way to get to the Master Cylinder.
issue resolved.
disconnected negative terminal on battery and removed ECM
bled the Master and got the air out of system similar to a bench bleed.
The Master Cylinder is small, so when bleeding make sure to keep fluid in there and not let it get low.
