Default Options to Install DIY ??? 2013 XC60

Just got a 2013 XC60 Demo with the Premier Plus package which include Front and rear parking assistance. I would like to add a rear camera, is this a DIY project??

Also would like to add the Navigation module?

Since the PP pkgs includes ACCESSORY PREP CABLES, what exactly does this mean? The cables were run at factory at built time and are there to hook up components.

Any help would be taken and suggestions are truly welcomed

I'm not sure about the 2013 XC60 but on the 14 with the Premire Plus package the Prep cable is a $95 option. It's not a part of the Premire Plus on a 14. The perp cable option means cables have been ran for certain options.
I had the Nav added on delivery. It works perfectly just like the factory unit on the Platinum series. It also makes the phone voice activated. It still requires a lot to install the module and has to be flashed at the dealer for it to operate. There is also a switch that has to be added to the steering wheel.
I was not about to try it as a lot of the dash trim has to come off.

Roger that. Found out that you cannot just buy the camera have to buy the whole kit at 680.00. What happens if the camera brakes for some reason, there must be a part just for the camera. The cables are all there in the life gate, as it was pre wired as PrepCable. Had to call 2 different dealers to get a straight answer. God and I though Mercedes over priced options

You might look into an aftermarket camera. I had one installed in the Wife's Mercedes
through one of the high end radio shops here in Atlanta. It was cheaper that the dealer but still ran about $1200.

Because you don't need just the camera, there is more to it.

Yes I know the camera and module. Volvo price 838.00 for the kit which includes all cables and new rear door handles. Well I don't need the cablers or the new handles as there is a pre punch out for the camera in the handle all ready. If they only sell this as a complete kit how do they replace a camera that may have been broken. Buy the whole kit and throw the rest of the parts in the trash>>

There are other cables you need, which are in the kit. The trunk handle is changed if I remember correctly.
The camera is available as a spare part. But you cannot just buy it and expect to hook it up and have it work.
