Default Parasitic draw

I have a 2014 xc60 3.2. I ran out of gas when I filled it then i needed a jump. That was about two weeks ago. Now I have to jump it with mi jump pack any time I want to drive it. It only takes a lil jump to start it and I can drive as long as I want as long as long as I dont turn it off. I went to a big box store and they said mi battery was good but the alternator was bad. I think it's a parasitic draw. Has any one else had this problem.

If you have to boost the car each time the the engine is shut off it is most likely the battery. Once the engine is running the alternator charges the battery and provides the power to run the systems on the car. So if you are able to drive as long as you want then the alternator is going to be working.
Six year old battery (if still the original one) is much more suspect than the alternator.

There of course may be some other odd things going on causing the issue but the battery would be the most common thing given your explanation.

It isn't the alternator. The car will tell you when it's the alternator. Probably a weak battery.

O'Reilly Auto Parts said my wife's 2016 V60 T5 had a bad voltage regulator. She was getting a " low battery charge" message.
Took it to a dealer and they said every thing was fine. They reset the error message but it did come back. The car starts fine but winter's
coming so she'll probably need a new battery.
