Default Potential XC60 owner wants to know...

How you you folks feel about your cars? Happy or regretful?

And forums tend to fill with problems - how reliable have the cars been?

Default Regretful

I enjoy the drive, comfort and roominess of my XC60. Do not buy one unless it is under warranty. Or you will be replacing windshields and fighting with service department over actual repairs needed and costs after only 5 months of ownership....Beware and get everything in writing. Volvo North America is not much help in resolutions.

To be fair, it was 5 months of ownership of a used car out of warranty, correct? Not a 5 month old car.

Correct..However, before I purchased this used car out of warranty, I paid this same Volvo service center to do a thorough check of vehicle which whey maintained by one previous owner since driven off showroom floor. After inspection, I was given a report and informed that the air quality sensor, front and back wiper blades, along with USB port in console needed replacing. All of which I negotiated prior to purchase and agreed to repair with check received from dealer. This service center along with the dealer had knowledge of a "recommended windshield reseal" documented one month prior to my purchase, which neither disclosed to me. I only discovered this days ago when I requested a copy of service history on vehicle dating back to prior owner. Believe me, I would not have purchased this vehicle or any other if that information was disclosed.
