I have a 2019 Momentum T6 on order. I know that the car can be remotely started with the smartphone app but can it also be remotely started using the key fob or can the fob only lock/unlock the doors/hatch?

The fob won’t start the car remotely, however, it isn’t necessary (as you mention) it can be done with a phone. You can adjust the length of time you want it started with the phone which is nice.
You will also be able to lock/unlock it from your phone and will get a message on your phone when left unlocked for an extended period.
