Default XC60 Alarm Siren

Hi,

my XC60 alarm siren has failed not sure why, but the hazards go off randomly. I've removed the module and it's stopped flashing the hazards.

I've been told the modules need to be coded to car? Is this correct. Its a 2013 xc60 D5, siren number 6G9N-19G229-BK.

Thanks in advance 👍

Default XC60 Siren change unit 30659882

Did you get an answer? Does the dealer have to setup the new alarm unit or is it just plug and play?
I need to change my alarm unit 30659882 on xc60 2017. I see lots of very similar units on ebay for just a few pounds, but will they work or am I doomed to pay £250 to volvo for the part and more if they have to set it up?
Thanks

so all I did was type the model number of unit as below into ebay and purchased 1 meant for range rover plugged it in and presto. Saved me alot of money so hopefully you aswell. Cost £15 😁 but as long as model number matches doesn't matter what car it's for all the same unit 6G9N-19G229-DF

Great thanks for the info. Does the last two characters refer to the car or type? Loads of 6G9N-19G229 units with different last characters. The price difference is huge!

Not 100% sure I just ordered exactly what come off my xc60. 395141622004 - this is exactly what i ordered from ebay. For £15 definitely worth a try before paying £250.

let me know how u get on.

Tommy

Just to be clear for me. Your original number ended with BK and you fitted a range rover designated DF? is that correct?
Many thanks
