Would anyone have a clue regarding the fault we have with the drivers door?

If the car is unlocked, the drivers door will not open from the outside handle. Inside it is fine. Also if the car is locked and you have the fob in your pocket, the door can be opened from the outside.

Just to re iterate, fault is drivers door cannot be opened from the outside if the car is unlocked.
