My 1999 v70awd xc has a continuous clicking noise when in motion. It will fade upon extreme acceleration. Appears to be on the left side. Left axle boot is in good condition and secure. Right side is loose but in good condition. 180000 miles on vehicle. New front rotors & break pads 200 mile ago. Noise has been present (off & on) for 6 months. It would go away with a quick press on the brake, eventually return. Noise sounds like a piece of tin riding along a turning cog. Clicking increases with the speed of the car.
