Hi everyone,

Thanks to those who responded to my earlier first post re" our 1999 XC70 AWD.

I just got my heater core replaced (dealer wanted $1180 - got the job done instead at an a local independent shop for $170.00 labor plus the cost of the heater core from Eeuroparts ($129.95) I also had the timing belt, water pump, crank and cam seals replaced for a total of $427.14. Would have been over $800 at the dealer!

But my "check engine" light came on when we picked up the car. Mechanic says it's a fuel metering error. he suspects a bad sensor & he has to check the diagnostic codes to see which sensor may need replacing.

Has anyone had this fuel metering error occur and if so, what was the fix? MAP sensor?

Could just be a vacuum leak.
