Rear End

RE: Rear End
Thanks Tech.... It didn't sound like something that should go but it does have the feeling that it could be. Though it feels more like the front to me. The car started to give a vibration while going straight and when turning it would get quite noticeable to severe then go away after going straight. Not consistent but getting worse. Felt like a loose wheel. Took it to the shop and after checking it they are confident that the rear diff is not slipping as it should. They drove the car in a circle and had someone outside watch and they saw the rear wheel skidding. I wasn't there for that. Wish I was.

RE: Rear End
Pull the driveshaft and test drive. If there is a problem in the diff. You should still be able to feel/hear it.
But a very common problem is the driveshaft. What happens is the boots where the shaft attaches to the flanges front and rear. Falls apart allowing dirt/junk to get in there and wipe the joint out.
Bad part is the driveshafts are over 1K.
Alot of people take them out and leave it out.

You're right Tech. Driveshaft. Picked up a rebuilt from an online source for $435. www.wholesaleimportparts.com Haven't taken it out of the box yet. Been front wheel only for the last several weeks. Including some snow and ice w/o snow tires. Put some of the fun back into winter driving.
