I just bought a 2007 xc70 to replace my wife's 2002 bad tranny vehicle. I brought it in to the shop to get an oil change and they sold me on a synthetic oil saying that's what the manufacturer requires. I've heard mixed opinions on this especially with turbos. Is it important to get a synthetic oil, or just change it regularly with conventional?

 

Use synthetic oil. Volvo recommends it.

 

I run synthetics in all of my vehicles...But in the 02 V70XC turbo, it is a must.
