Hey there,

I have a 2002 XC70 with 130k miles on it. I had the transmission rebuilt about 30k miles ago. I had the CV joints, front axles, and timing belt replaced in May. I'm getting a hard shift/clunking from what seems to be inside the transmission. It doesn't do it all the time. Seems more frequent in the mountains. Also, I was in stop and go traffic on a steep incline last week and it started rolling backward. I had to keep my foot on the brake until i was ready move forward and then "clunk."

So it sounds to me like an internal transmission issue. Has anyone had a similar issue, preferably with a quick fix?
