XC 70 Supension on V70R?
Considering a Volvo station wagon as our Subie is getting up there in miles. I like the greater ground clearance of the xc 70 and the 300 hp engine in the v70r. I'm under the impression that the xc70, v70r and xc90 (and maybe some others) all share the P2 platform. My idea then is to find a nice used v70r with a manual trans and the 300hp engine and put donor xc70 or xc90 suspension components underneath?
Seems this would be easier than trying to find the v70r engine and put it in the xc70.
Any ideas on this? Other ways to get xc70 ground clearance and 300+ HP?
Thanks,
Russ

Suspension
I myself am not very familiar with the suspension of these vehicles but here's what I do know.
XC's have an additional 1" added to there stut/spring height so the strut mounts are moved slightly to compensate for the change in camber over a regular v70. Also v70R's may not be completely dependent on there adjustable suspension system as there are aftermarket non auto adjusting struts like Konis available for purchase from various places.
So in all reality it could be possible with adjustable strut mounts and/or camber bolts, if they would provide enough adjustment.
You might also consider just replacing the springs with XC springs and adusting for camber.
Hopefully this helps.
