Default 07 XC90 Brake Failure - Stop Safely

About 6 weeks ago we drove the SUV from Texas to Miami stayed there 2 weeks and came back total about 3000 miles the anti skid service and DSTC came on several times car drove fine the other night my wife was 5 minutes from house started car abs check engine and other lights came on she told me to check.I tried to start car no luck Brake Failure - Stop Safely. My friend mechanic checked battery and also tried starter from under car starter and battery good.We got the ABS module with pump and tried to hook up the plug to the new one did not disconnect old hoses yet same thing. We ere not able to get a good obd reader yet mine that I have says error. My question is do I have to reset codes in order for it to work did any one hear that if the Brake Failure - Stop Safely goes on it wont let you start car any advice please

you need to get a volvo specific code reader that can communicate with the car's systems rather than a generic obd 2 reader. you can get a carsoft one on ebay for around $100 or a shop that specializes in volvo should have that or better (the dealer version), vida/dice. it sounds like you voltage bad but you checked that... another possibility is the CEM ; do some searches but it isn't good if that's what it is.
