2004 xc90 t6 , problems
I have a 2004 xc90 t6 that i purchased new. It now has 99,000 miles on it and yesterday i received a warning to stop engine no oil pressure, along with a very loud grinding noise coming from the engine.
this is the newest problem, i have had 2 new transmissions , 3 turbos, 2 wheel hubs, a motor fan, and oil trap replaced. What else can i expect with this vehicle?

sun roof drain leaks, normal for a fuel pump in the higher miles (130,000+). headlight fogging up, center drive shaft can go out.... i could list more but it actually is a good car if maintance is done.
as far as you noise, with out hearing or testing, i would assume the oil pump stoped, or was clogged and now a bearing might have let go.

thanks for your comments, its just frustrating to buy such an expensive car and have this many problems. The maintenance has been done regularly and the oil is changed every 3 to 4 thousand miles not 7500 miles like volvo recommends.
Just google "volvo xc90 complaints or problems" you will realize you are not alone- thousands of complaints with same issues you describe. Of course there answer is ..."you did not properly maintain your vehicle" Thousands of people payed top dollar for a car they werent going to pay 20-30 bucks for an oil change???? Volvo appears to no longer be ethical. I bought the same year and model thinking it would be safe care for my family... nothing but problems -two transmissions (class action lawsuits are in the works over that ) turbos, steering problems, brake problems, etc. This car is DANGEROUS!! Do your due diligence before considering to buy this car. A simple google search will convince you to STAY AWAY from VOLVO.
YES it is!! AND apparently thousands of people are having the same experience with the XC90 that I am having.Coincidence?? Nope. It is a poor manufacturing issue . Volvo is no longer a maker of safe and reliable cars.
