I have a 2005 Volvo XC90 V8 with a small glitch... the plastic cover over the front seat cupholders has jammed. We have 'progressively' more issues with the cover... from sticking to now completely frozen...

My question... have others had this issue? If so, how do I fix this thing... is this something I can fix myself, or does it need to go back to the dealer?

Had the same-but it fixed "itself" when I came to the dealer, and is working for now. Take it to the dealer -I was told they (dealer) did see problems w/ cover (like yours, not the "sticking problem" because of too big pen holder)

 

There is a Volvo Tech Net Note regarding this issue. The remedy is a new pen holder. It's something like 1mm shorter than the old one. If the cupholder hasn't been damaged then it should solve your problem.
