2006 low beam bulb failure
You have a broken wire (or a bad connector) somewhere that sometimes makes a connection and sometimes not. The only thing the ecm knows is there is a broken circuit as it is only looking for continuity. Have you ever had a light bulb where the filament is broken, but when you shake it the connection is re-established and the light will work until it is shut off and the filament cools down and separates again? Same thing.
That makes perfect sense. I will inspect closely today and report back. Thanks
If you get to that point, you will need to solder the new mosfet in.
Sounds reasonable. Please tell me more. Where is your post? Where is the Light control module? I'm a former electronics tech. I am a very capable solderer.
I replaced the bulb thinking that was the problem. I have heard when they melt...they melt good. Mine appears ok, but I will take another look. Thanks
I checked voltage at the plug. It was good. I looked inside the bulb plug and there was a wide gap for the tiny bulb pins (not making contact). When I tried to fix it, the plug crumbled in my hand. I bought a $10 plug replacement at O'Reilly's and it's working again.
