Default 2008 3.2 - massive oil leak passenger side

3.2 awd with 285,xxx miles.

So I've developed a massive oil leak on the passenger side of the engine. As soon as car starts oil can be seen pouring out of the weep hole at the end of the crankshaft. Is this the front or rear main seal? Crankshaft seal? Are those the same thing?

is this vehicle done for? Lol.

Weep hole? If you can see the end of the crankshaft, you are missing the front plug.

Yes I guess I am missing the plug. I can see the end of the crankshaft.

it is leaking oil like crazy from that tiny hole below. Everything I'm finding on the web is the timing belt side of crank. Can't find any info on this side of crank

are you telling me all I need is that $10 plug?

is this serviceable from outside of the engine or does it need to be torn apart?

dumb question on my part that was kind of obvious lol.

but is it serviceable from outside the engine or does it need to be torn apart?

Edit: i got the part. Looks like it just presses into there. But what is supposed to hold it in place?

Just remove the passenger front wheel, pull the fender liner away for access.

Clean the area. Put some lube on the new one and press it in. I've never seen one come out. I wonder if your PCV is clogged or you have excessive blow by. Might want to use glass cleaner or similar to lube it so that it will evaporate once in place. Then check for excessive crankcase pressure.

I've replaced the pcv oil trap already. There is obviously pressure still though as it keeps dislodging.

It keeps dislodging after being properly installed? Or you can't get it fully seated?
