2008 XC90 3.2 engine noise

Has anyone experienced a high pitch noise at start up with their 3.2 engine. Noise goes away after 45 seconds. We thought it was the alternator but it was not.

if it is a squeal that sounds like a belt issue.

Try pulling the dipstick and see if the noise goes away. If it then it sounds like the serpentine belt. You've probably got oil or coolant on it.
