ac issue on xc90

Default ac issue on xc90

can anyone tell me if the front expansion valve controls left and right AC flow

dealer says that will fix my issue of passenger side blowing warm air and drivers side blowing cold

it has been in the shop 4 prior times for the same symptoms, all with a different fix... o ring, gasket, seal... i think it is the blend door/motor

Could be low on freon or blend motor needs to be calibrated. Try turning the R/S temp to hot then back to cold and see if it changes.

thank you for the reply..
i did try the r/s gauge trick of going cold to hot for 30 seconds and then back. it does not improve unless i am at highway speeds.
the freon is showing fully charged at 45 pounds

i spoke with the head of the dealership service dept and they are going to look at it again thursday for me.
will post their findings.

If the freon was not pulled out and filled back up to proper specs it still might be low. They can act like this only .50 lb low.

i had it back in the dealership today and they replaced 5 different "O" rings and replaced the freon.
it was at half the recommended levels.
since they misdiagnosed it the first time as an expansion valve issue, they did the work for free.
