Default Burning scent?

I have a 2004 XC90 T5. It just turned 38,000 miles and I have noticed a burning smell(?) coming from the engine. The engine temperature is normal. The oil was changed roughly two months ago and it doesn't leak much, if any, oil. This came about roughly last week. Any thoughts from the forum? Thanks for the help!

I would check and see if the turbo return line o-ring is leaking. If it is the it can be blowing back and hitting the exhaust.

Thanks for the post.

I take it I will have to have a mechanic look for this?

Also have them check to see if a piece from the upper torque mount fell out and is sitting on the exhaust or turbo.
