I recently picked up a 2010 XC90 D5 R-design that came with the dynaudio solution and the factory bluetooth kit. I was surprised that it didn't support streaming though.

After a bit of digging I stumbled across the USB adapters that plug into devices that support MP3 files on USB sticks.

So I ordered one of these for $12 AUD

It arrived in the mail today, so I plugged it in.

The first time I connected it, my phone saw it, but didn't stream music to it.

So I unplugged it, and plugged it back in. Tried it again and it all worked.

Will be interesting to see how it goes longer term.

 

yep, the first iteration of bluetooth was to support phone integration not as an aux channel. As to Volvo adaptors, Grom is a good source to check out at gromaudio.com

 

given my plan is to go with an aftermarket head unit in a couple of months, I was more interested in a $10 option rather than $300 for the Grom.
