Creaking in the front with braking

Me again!
2012 XC90 D5, I've had all of the engine mounts replaced last year and know this isn't the same sound. But I'm getting a creaking sound or some light clunk sounds when braking, and more pronounced with braking and turning (like driving into my suburb and all the little twists and turns into our street). If I'm going slow enough anyways and don't need to brake I don't need to slow down to turn I don't hear any noise with turning. Is it possible it's something to do with the shocks? I'm not a car person, so don't know all of the components, but thought I'd see if anyone else has dealt with this and the potential cost? TIA!

Potentially worn control arm bushings up front. I am not familiar with the diesels or the xc90. These control arms are usually replaced as a whole because it is cheaper than pressing in new bushings due to labor costs. Lemforder is an OE brand to check for prices. I am sure the Volvo ones will be very pricey. Labor on swapping control arms should be pretty inexpensive, it's not a difficult or lengthy job. Overall, the suspension components would need to be inspected for wear.
