My name is Leonardo I bought a xc 90 few weeks ago it is a 2004 model year and it has 40000 miles on it, every time i refuel I have a very bad fuel odor in the interior.
can you guys help???

 

does it happen when you fill the tank completely. if so volvo has a problem with the fuel pumps cracking at the top and leaking fuel. you should take it to a dealership and see if you fall under the extended warranty for the fuel pump or the recall for the fuel pumps

 

I have the same car with the exact same problem. I'm going to pay attention to see if it's happening just after filling the tank.

 

My wife recently complained of a "natural gas smell" in our 05 xc90. I, too, am now curious if this happened immediately after a fill-up. Any updates or follow-up from the previous posters?

 

those fuel pumps are known to crack at the top causing fuel to always leak even without filling up. they have a recall out for them so go to the dealer and see if your car is available for recall 220. the reason i asked if it happened after a fill up is beacuse sometimes the rubber o ring on the passenger side will wear out and leaks gas after filler up.
