Oil light on/XC90 will not start
2006 XC90 2.5T AWD 70k miles
Hello all, here is a quick back story:
I bought this car for my mother a month ago. Drove fine no issues until this morning. This is all second hand as my mother lives in NY and I am in CA...
2 days ago car is taken to my mother's indy mechanic for an oil change as well as a new serpentine belt. All is fine after.
This morning she goes out and starts the car to warm it up. The car starts fine. 10 minutes later she returns to the car, its running fine. In hindsight she feels there was a low frequency bass noise in the background as the car was running. She leans over to turn on the seat warmers, they do not light up. Neither does the rear defrost. All other electrics seem to function. She then notices the red engine oil icon is on. There is no message in the message center nor is there a yellow or red triangle. She shuts the car off and tries to restart it. The car turns over normally but will not start. She gets out and notices there is oil drops along the bottom of the front bumper.
A flatbed comes and my brother looks under the car and it looks like the oil is coming from either an oil line or maybe the intercooler/oil cooler. The dipstick shows the car is perfectly full of oil.
Is it a coincidence 2 days after an oil and belt there is an oil leak? Any ideas on a cause? Is there an obvious reason it will not start? Why an oil light with no accompanying message? Is the seat warmer/defrost not working at all even able to be related?
No one can look at it until after the weekend. Thanks in advance, John
