I have a 2006 2.5T XC90. The window lift mechanism of the rear driver side door failed. I have the repair manual and followed the instructions and removed the door panel, then the 5 rivets and a bolt that hold the loud speaker and the lift mechanism and have as much access as possible, but I can't figure out how to separate the mechanism from the window in order to remove it. The repair manual is very short on details, all it says is "Work out the lift mechanism" and does not explain how it should be worked out. Based on images of new replacement mechanisms, I am able to see where the lift mechanism should be separated from the window, but it is not possible to separate from that location without removing the window first, because the separation points has two rivets and is not possible to remove them without having the mechanisms out.
Is my only option to remove the mechanism is to remove the window first? Any tips on how the lift mechanism should be removed?
Below is the second part of the instructions from the repair manual.
