Time For A Suspension Refresh
2005 XC90 V8 95,000 miles.
Recommendations?
Starting to feel road bumps and dips.
Have rear Nivomats.
Am thinking stock Sachs front struts and new Nivomats.
Springs, strut caps, IPD stuff?
CB bearing fix done at 72,000miles

I own a 2006 XC90 V8 with 50,000 mi driven mostly on paved roads and streets. Had few minor mechanical problems until now when, after driving several hours on a smooth highway at about 65 mph, I felt a VERY STRONG and noisy vibration coming from the rear suspension. It was strong enough to make me pull over and stop immediately to look for damages in the car's suspension. It was dark and I could see nothing wrong with it. I continued my trip back home litteraly limping because the vibration would come back at about 45-50 mph. Next day I took it to the dealer and found out that the passenger side rear stay bar was broken and the drivers' side was bent. I did not have any hard driving or ran over anything that might have hit hard on the suspension, and had been driving uneventfuly for 200+ mi on the highway at 60-70 mph when it ocurred.
Has anyone experienced anything similar? Any clues on what could have caused it?

Mystery solved. We traced the problem to the damage caused to the suspension rear stay bar by an incompetent tow truck driver who tied the cable to the suspension instead of the proper adapter in the rear bumper. Obviously the rear stay bar was not designed to bear all the car's weight while being loaded onto the tow truck.
