Default V8 oil leak

Did a search and could not find anything. Our '05 V8 powered XC90 has developed an oil leak. Has anyone encountered this issue before. Would like to get an idea of what may have failed on others.

I've seen a few leak from the timing cover and a few from the valve covers.

Mine looks to be leaking at the valve covers. Also looks to be leaking low and on the pulley side of the engine.

Some of the places that I've seen leak are the valve covers, the power steering pump leaks down the from of the timing cover and sometimes to the back of the engine, and the rear main seal on the crank.

Be careful before thinking it's the rear main seal. There is a drain hole in the valley under the intake that drains between the engine and transmission. So an oil leak (or power steering pump) up top can drain out there and look like a leaking rear main seal.

Power steering unit developed a leak about a year ago. Replaced the unit. This one is hard to tell. Not loosing a substantial amount of oil as the level is still within the hash marks on the dipstick. But, there is a small build up on the garage floor.

Well then you're gonna have to look around to see what's leaking. Might have to clean it off and recheck after driving.
