I have bought my car 2016 XC90 in august 2022 with 51k mileage , at that time dealership changed the oil. After a month I got low engine oil message in speedometer and asked me to refil one liter oil. I went to Jeffy lube and they changed the oil, after couple of month I checked the car status in center display screen and it was showing that my oil level is low . I called Volvo dealership near me and they told me they will do fuel consumption test so they fill the new engine oil and asked me to come back after 800 miles . I drove around 2300 miles and again I am seeing low engine oil in center display screen. I called the dealership and they asked me that they have to start the oil consumption test again before and after for only 800 miles range as I drove 2300 miles they can’t do this consumption test now. I told them if I never got low oil message after I drive 800 miles then how you will see the issue as it’s only recurring after 2200 miles etc. dealership said that’s the only way . Anyone else have better solution based on their
experience?
The dealer measures how much oil is consumed after the 800 miles. So by driving more miles they can't follow their procedure. The low oil light does not need to come on during the 800 mile trip, they should have specified this. They are putting in a precise amount and then measure how much drains out.
Give them another chance after driving only the 800miles and not more than that.
