Wheel bearings noise from disc brake change?
Hi - just had the disc brakes changed on our XC90 and since driving out the service centre, the wheel bearings are making a loud roaring sound. Is there any way the wheel bearings could have been damaged during the replacement of the disc brakes as it seems a little too coincidental to me?
thanks
thanks
Yes there is alway a chance that changing a part like brake pads could be the straw that broke the camels back. If that caused a bearing issue to surface, the next pot hole may have done it as well.
Did you have rotors replaced? If not, you could be experiencing pad/rotor run off. Meaning that the pads are being groved by the old rotors which would likely balance out within 500 miles.

Not sure on the rotors but i assumed they did the whole lot when they changed the disc brakes. Im just a little suspicious that the wheel bearings were fine before the disc brake change and now they are not....and what i should be saying to them before they try and charge me to fix them too.
