1998 V70 XC Wagon Wont Start in Cold Weather
I have a 1998 Volvo V70 XC Wagon and for some reason, it doesn't want to start in cold weather. When I say cold, I mean 10degress or colder.
I insert the key and go to on and everything works. I turn the key farther to engage the starter and nothing happens I turn the key to as far as it will go and all I hear is one click noise from under the passenger seat.
I got it to start the other day when it was cold, and it did the typical start of a very cold start but once it warmed up it was fine.
I know this is not an issue due to lack of block heater.

**Update**
After research into this, I think my problem is the antenna ring.
Being this problem only happens when the car is very cold, I am trying an experiment of putting a heater inside my car to warm up the interior. I am hoping that it will start when it is warm and I will have to wait till my new antenna ring gets here.

How old is the battery?Despite putting it on a charger or not if it’s really cold and it’s old the cells inside could just be completely frozen and not work even with a charge.Otherwise have the charging system checked. Poor connection plus extreme cold could even start causing issues to the starter motor. It’s certainly not the professional way, but if you use a long 2x4 and knock on the starter motor a bit it may work. It may not, it’s just a thought.Hope this helps!
