Hello,

I currently have a problem with my car, while pulling away and changing through the gears the car seems to jerk. It seems to go when I'm on the motorway doing higher speeds (60mpg+)

I have a 1998 Volvo V70 2.0l Petrol with 102k on the clock.

Any ideas what the problem may be?

 

Do you have an engine light on?
if your light on the gas does it do this same jerking?
Does it feel like the car is losing power and jerking, or do the rpms go high for a sec while shifting?

 

If you are trying to say the car is shifting hard through the first couple of gears, you could have a worn transmission torque mount or your transmission fluid needs to be changed.
