Default ETS light / no error message

Hi,

I'm driving a 2000 V70 XC. Last Friday night the ETS light on my dashboard came on. However I didn't feel any difference in the way the car drove on my way back home (~ 20 min). I haven't moved it since then.

A friend of mine lent me his Scan Tool (Autel MaxiScan MS300 Can) but it says there are no error messages. When I start the car the ETS light still comes on though.

Since I read that I might need a new ET module or get it reprogrammed I will make an apointment at a dealer, since it seems they are the only one who can do that.

Can anybody tell me what to expect? Is it normal to not get error codes when the ETS fails?
I think I read somewhere that you can have them clean some parts first and see if that makes the light go away, before investing in a new module. Any input on that? Or put another way: What should I ask the mechanics to do/check first?

Thanks

I have been reading up on how to fix my ETS issue. My light comes on and right into limp mode when starting the car
