Subframe questions...
I have a 2000 V70 and I hit a curb avoiding a truck running a red light and now my passenger side wheel sit about 2-3 inches back from its original position. I removed the wheel to find that the part of the sub frame that the control arm connects to bent/crumpled a bit. I found someone that is parting out a 98 v70 manual and am inquiring about getting that sub frame piece but I don't know if it's compatible or if its even a piece that can be removed. I have pics but for some reason I cant upload them... I'm new and looking for some help. Thanks
WELL, I'm sure that you already know that you have a major chunk missing from your wheel as well.
If it were me, I would go to a body shop and get an estimate on the cost to fix the frame. A good body shop should be able to do a good job in fixing a frame for about $300 - $500. That would include an alignment.
Then you will need a wheel and have the tire remounted.
As for the sub-frame, you can replace that part but it is kinda big and supports the motor & transmission. It's a big square and has a few mounts between it and the car frame. If you go to iPd's website and look up frame mounts you will see a diagram of the frame. Yes the '98 model should fit fine.

If you have full coverage, report the accident and call your insurance to fix it. They will likely total that car out and hand you a check for $2,500.
Can't really see all of that in the pic but it doesn't matter, any body shop that takes on the work will make it right.

I wrecked my 960 once and tore my wheel smooth off. The Volvo indi shop fixed it for $500 and it drove straighter than before the accident.
I hit a fully inflates truch tire on the highway and drove about 150 yards on 2 wheels.
