Tighten up the suspension help
Hello,
First time FWD Volvo owner. 1999 V70, base model with 72,000 miles (115,000kms).
Just picked it up a few weeks ago. Noticed a klathunk sound from time to time in rear passenger side. Checked the delta link and the bushing on the right side is finished. I found a diy video that shows how to use a Volvo bushing tool to remove and replace the bushing. I was wondering what other things I can do both front and back that could help me tighten everything up. It is pretty good but even with only 115000kms I suspect some of the rubber bits have deteriorated over the 17 years.
Thanks!
Roy

For the front end, control arm bushings/ball joints can be done at the same time. Tie rod ends and sway bar end links are easy to do. Strut mounts (ie the rubber spring seat "blob" with the metal insert) can contribute to the clunks and you can have torn up bump stops etc. I'd also check out motor mounts/torque rods for odd clunks up front too...
