A question about V70
Hello,
I have a 2002 V70 automatic.
I noticed that every time I start the car, the AC green light goes ON. As if by default.
I press the button and turn it OFF. When I turn the engine ON again, it goes back to the AC ON again (with the Green light lit).
While the fan speed **** is OFF, I assume this engages the AC which puts a strain on the engine.
And most of the time I don't noticed that it is ON till later.
My question is:
1- Is the AC actually ON or is it just the Green ON light that is ON?
2- How do I get it to stay OFF and not come ON by default ?
Thank you.

Yes, that is what I was saying that the fan speed dial is on the off/zero position. But isn't the AC Compressor engaged when the AC Green light is ON.
Is it normal for this AC Green light to be Lit by default or is there something wrong that causes it be ON by default ??

I have found the AC gets activated if a) you turn on the front windshield defrost, and b) if the climate control is on 'Automatic' and your settings might prompt its use.
It is irritating that it comes on full blast... and I think my car remembers what settings were in effect the last time the key was used, like the seat settings.
