Hello,

I have an 02 V70 Base coming up on 200,000 miles. I am getting ready to do the timing belt and other associated parts and have ordered all OEM stuff from IPD, including the water pump gasket/new bolts. Typically I try to steer clear of adding anything to gaskets but have heard/read some stories.

Does anyone add RTV or other sealant to the OEM Volvo gasket? If so, to both surfaces and both sides of the gasket? What kind of RTV do you use?

Also, does anyone recommend a torque wrench that is good for engine applications. I only have one capable of doing increment of 10 ft lbs and want to make sure I get the 17 Nm (13 ft lb) that it calls for.
