v70 2.5T: what to expect?
Hi, new member here, first time posting.
Thanks to all those who have taken the time to post/share/respond in many other threads, what a great resource of helpful people!
T get into it: I just bought my 2nd ever Volvo. 2006 Volvo 720 2.5 T, 91k miles! Yahoo! (I previously had a 97 850 wagon for 9 years and it finally drained my energy and my funds and I wanted something more reliable).
My questions are: what recommendations do folks have for important maintenance for this vehicle? Especially for the turbo engine?
Recent work the shop put in includes timing belt, brake pads rotors, struts.
I want to get on the right track for maintaining this vehicle but I'm also on a tight budget (aren't we all!)
Thanks for any advice, tips, wish-I-would've-known's ,etc.

Hi,
check your PCV system (google it and you'll see videos on youtube).
I've found that with this model if you give it regular oil changes it's pretty reliable.
I think the only thing that has come as an actual surprise for me was when three of the coils went at the same time (normally doesn't happen - but they're not cheap).
The only other thing worth noting is that there's a bracket on the middle of the exhaust that seems to rot away - there's a replacement part for this as it's a known defect so don't let anyone convince you to buy a new exhaust (unless the exhaust is knackered).
