Had 06 xc70 in shop other day for a noise that i couldn't put my finger on. As it turns out suspension is fine but it was discovered that flex pipe from turbo to cat was the culprit.
It is a one piece unit and has to be purchased as such. I live in NY but car was purchased from NH....have looked under hood to see emissions but i am still not sure what way to go.
Cats range from 2694.00 to 200.00, paid 1600.00 for car in fine shape and had it transported to NY two year ago. I have spoken to FCP Euro, and they could not point me in right direction plus other car sites, can anyone shed some light on this subject?
Funny that ck engine light wasn't on until i left shop......just my luck i guess.

A good muffler shop can replace just the flex pipe - There are many shapes and sizes available

 

Thanks for reply, have ordered aftermarket cat plus will replace both o2 sensors and keep fingers crossed.
